Andrew Reed is planning a MacMeet and mini Cruise in Company from Laxey, Isle of Man, crossing to Northern Ireland visiting Strangford Lough, continuing to Carlingford Lough  and returning to Laxey via Peel.

Laxey Harbour

Laxey       (View of inner Harbour)                      This harbour dries out at Low Water.                Information about Laxey can be found here  http://www.laxey.org/visitor-information.html

The plan is to welcome, all those who want to participate and make the journey to Laxey Isle of Man on the 16th. If we have enough people committing to coming I will host a welcome dinner in our club house. (A small fee requested).

On the 17th we will then sail in convoy from Laxey around the North of the island to Peel on our west coast. Here we will moor up for the evening enjoying the hospitality of our local public houses.

Oxford National Macmeet and AGM @ Sutro Room, Trinity College, Oxford
Feb 16 all-day

MacWester Boat Owners’Association

Just to remind you of the details of the AGM which is being held on Saturday 17 February 2018 at Trinity College, Broad Street, Oxford.  There is no parking at the college, but Oxford is well known for excellent park and ride facilities.   The city of Oxford has several useful web-sites.

The AGM is being held in the Sutro Room, with coffee or tea and biscuits at 11.00 and starting the AGM proceedings at 12.00.  This will be followed by a buffet lunch.  Details were given in the journal.

On the Friday night there is an informal meal at The Chequers, 130b, High Street.

We can now give details of the formal dinner on Saturday night.  This is to be held at 6.30 for 7.00 pm at the Cherwell Boathouse Restaurant, adjacent to the river Cherwell, some 15 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford.  There is some parking, and there are several hotels and guest houses in the immediate vicinity.

Details of the menu can be found on the restaurant’s web-site, which is cherwellboathouse.co.uk. Click on ‘restaurant’ and then ‘winter set menu’.  They have have asked us to co-ordinate the booking and give menu choices in advance.  Please look at the web-site and then e-mail your choices to Peter Stebbings at peter@familystebbings.org.uk.  The last date on which we can receive menu choices is Sunday 11 February.

Look forward to seeing you on the 17 February.
