Could anyone shed any light on whether S.S.Spars Ltd’s masts were commonly used on McWester or Trident boats.

We have an in furling systme mast for our Rowan Crown (apprpx 1983), just wondering if this was common and given I can find out very little about S.S.Spars I wanted to see if there was any chance of parts or what other systems might have been used?

    Many thanks Roland.

    Hi Roland
We don’t think in mast furling systems were invented then, so it must have been added at a later date.

    Hi Roland
SS spars were regular suppliers for Macwester in the ‘70’s, alongside IYE Spars. I confirm Linda’s comment, in-mast furling arrived somewhat later. Could it have been an add-on, or is the sail furled inside the mast profile?
