I’ve just bought a macwester 27, and the mast gate is missing. Can any one help!

Please explain a bit more : any photos ? By « Mast Gate », do you mean the mast pivot point at the mast step to attach it to the deck? On my MW27, there is not the traditional «Tabernacle » galvanised or stainless steel cradle with 2 big bolts, but it is a perfectly safe arrangement.

Where the sail is taken out as shown in picture. There seems to be a gate missing, so when sail is lowered or reefed the sail. Stays in the mast, rather than spilling out. Onto the deck.

This is not the mast but the gate is missing.

Do you mean the gate for the sail slides

I don’t have a gate and use a slide stopper to keep the slides from dropping out. See photo

However, if someone else knows of a supplier of a suitable gate that fits I would also be interested.
