    Electric Outboard
I am considering replacing my 2hp petrol outboard with an electric outboard. Currently used to ferry 3 persons in 2.5m inflatable from boat to shore. Looking for a lighter option if possible.
Any suggestions as to what would be suitable in the NW Scotland waters where a little chop is not uncommon?
The brochures say they can run for 1.5hrs between charges. Is this realistic?

Sorry – we have no knowledge about electric outboards. We don’t know of anyone who has had one

I have an e-propulsion engine.  We’ve had it for 2 years.  It is excellent. If used at lowish revs, the battery lasts for 10+ hours.  Because the engine splits in two – battery & engine – it is very easy to fit on the dinghy without risk of falling overboard!

I have bought an elite. Have used several time to mooring and back with little reduction in charge so happy so far. Looking forward to next season getting to and from boat more easily.
