I’m just about to install a Volvo Penta MD22 to replace the BMC 1.5. It’s a slightly shorter engine so to avoid having to replace the propeller shaft I could move it back towards the stern by 170 mm. the Volvo is about 5 Kg heavier. I seem to think I’ve seen an article saying the Wight needs more weight to the back. Any thoughts or observations

I cannot see this being a problem (moving it back). Either that or fit a new shaft, or have a spacer made between the flexible coupling and gear box.
