I need to replace the masthead light on my Macwester 26 (and possibly the wiring in the mast?? )

From what I can tell, I have the options of climbing the mast or lowering the mast.  I’ve not previously attempted either on this boat.

What are peoples experiences with either option?

I suspect climbing would be quicker/easier to just change the light, but if I find I need to then I think having the mast down might be the better option?

    Thanks,

    Ron

    Hi

To change the bulbs go up the mast

but to do more work up the mast have it taken down then you can pull new wires

through fit the new light and check all

    the rigging over

    Thanks Chris,

For unstepping the mast, do you have any advice or tips on how to do this myself?

    Thanks again!

Crane is the safest option imho I have a tabernacle but the side ways movement when lowering could stress the old girls mast foot!
